How To Clean And Take Care Of Laminate Floors

With the right mop, laminate floors are very easy to clean. All you need to have is a microfiber mop that glides easily across the floor and a really effective cleaning solution.

However, there are several things that need to be kept in mind in caring for laminate floors at home.

1. Avoid Strong Solvents

Since cleaning laminate floor is breezy, you do not need strong solvents as your cleaning agent to remove any stain or mark on the floor. Avoid using bleach or waxes too. Get a microfiber mop pad and dampen it with water then spray on the cleaning solution. Do not soak the pad with water. A little water and cleaning solution should be enough to clean two room floors.

2. Immediately blot up spills

Spills and the kind are unavoidable at home especially if you have kids running around the house. Blot up spills immediately using dry cloth or sponge instead of leaving a puddle for a long period of time as it may cause warping.

3. Remove Stains and Marks using the right method

Do you see scuffs or heel marks on your laminate floors? Use a pencil eraser to remove it. If there’s grease on the laminate flooring, use an ice pack to harden the grease then use a knife to scrape it off. Be careful not scratch your floors with the knife. If there’s ink or blood stains on it, use your window cleaner solution and wipe with a damp cloth.
